How many scholarships are offered?
Seven scholarships are offered in varying amounts.
What types of scholarships are offered and in what amounts?
Foothills Community Church yearly awards general education scholarships in varying amounts. There are three categories and an overall total of seven awards. Go back to the Scholarship page to see details.
Who can apply for the scholarships?
Scholarships are open to graduating seniors of Molalla or Colton High Schools, Country Christian School, or attend Foothills Community Church; and will be entering a college, university or trade school the fall term immediately following graduation.
How do I know which scholarship(s) to apply for?
Requirements for each scholarship category are found on the web page as well as the scholarship applications. Apply for those for which you meet the requirements.
Can I apply even if I do not attend Foothills community Church or any church?
Scholarships are not based on religious affiliation, church membership, or attendance. Scholarships are open to any graduating senior meeting the requirements for the scholarship.
Are collegiate test scores and GPA required for all scholarship categories?
Grade Point Average and SAT/ACT collegiate test score requirements vary with each category.
Are essays and letters of recommendation required?
Essays and letters of recommendation are required and vary in each category.
How will my application be judged?
Scholarship applications are judged on neatness, grammar, spelling and ability to follow instructions.

Where do I turn in my application when completed?
You may turn in completed applications to the counseling offices of Molalla or Colton High School, Country Christian School, or the Foothills Community Church office by the deadline date.
Can I apply for more than one scholarship at the same time?
You may apply for one scholarship from each category for which you meet the requirements.
Can I obtain an extension of the deadline date?
Extensions of the deadline date are considered on an individual basis. lf you need an extension of the deadline, contact Daniel McLain at danandval@molalla.net or 503-829-7745.
Can I obtain an exception to the requirements for a scholarship?
Requests for exceptions must be submitted in writing,stating the reason for the exception. Requests must be in letter form to Dan McLain, Scholarship Coordinator, Foothills Community Church, PO Box 797, Molalla OR 97031 or by email to Dan McLain at danandval@molalla.net.
If awarded a scholarship, how are the funds dispersed and to whom?
Funds are forwarded directly to the school designated by the recipient to be credited to recipient’s account for dispersal as required.
